No suit, prosecution or other proceeding shall lie,—
(a) against any officer of the State Government for anything in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act, or the rules thereunder; 1[except which is done or believed without due care and attention or when he corruptly or maliciously makes or pronounces in any stage of a formal or summary enquiry, any report, order, verdict, or decision which he knows to be contrary to the law.]1
(b) against the State Government for any damage caused or likely to be caused or any injury suffered or likely to be suffered by anything in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act, or the rules thereunder.
