(1) The State Government shall, by notification, appoint Additional Chief Secretary/ Principal Secretary/Secretary.
(2) The Additional Chief Secretary/ Principal Secretary / Secretary shall be the Chief Revenue Officer in the State and shall exercise powers of superintendence and control for the entire state over all Officers subordinate to him.
(3) The Additional Chief Secretary/ Principal Secretary / Secretary shall exercise the powers and discharge the duties conferred and imposed on him by or under this Act or any other law for the time being in force. He shall also exercise such powers and discharge such duties as the State Government may confer or impose in his behalf for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act or any other law for the time being in force or under the Karnataka Government (Transaction of Business) Rules, 1977.]2]1
